What I Do

AUTHOR

I've written and published papers, articles and videos on a variety of topics related to learning. I'm most proud of the book I co-authored with Luis Pérez called: Dive Into UDL: Immersive Practices to Develop Expert Learners (Second Edition)

LEARNING DESIGN

Learning based on one-size-fits-all content delivery and rote memory is ineffective and outdated. I build learning resources that help develop expert learners: purposeful and motivated, knowledgable and resourceful and strategic and goal-directed.

VIRTUAL TEAMS

Teams/Zoom/Google Meet are tools that easily create disengagement not promote it. I know how to build respectful, collaborative teams that get things done. I've run a start-up, completed my masters, wrote a book, ran courses, created apps and lead the learning design and delivery team at Walmart. All virtually.

CONSULTATION

I help companies redefine their product or service, move from or to the educational tech space, and recognize when a pivot is necessary. In addition, my skills in instructional design, eLearning and UDL help companies ensure their product or training is useable, accessible and inclusive.

PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION

My work across North America has provided me with insights into how to work successfully with a variety of stakeholders including government entities, businesses, educators, staff, SMEs, instructional designers and outside vendors.

CONTENT CREATION

I have experience as a writer, editor and designer including books, articles, introductions, curriculum, storyboards, decks, scripts, original research (published), interactive resources (Articulate Storyline), courses, instructional videos, apps, products and more.
